About the role

PeopleSource Solutions is representing a confidential client seeking an experienced Production Planner to join their meat processing facility on a full-time, on-site basis in Madill, OK. You will own the conversion of raw livestock and incoming meat into finished product at the right time, volume, yield, cost, and specification. This is not a standard scheduling role. You are expected to model the plant as a system, matching available raw material to finished-goods demand, staffing lines to actual cut and process requirements, protecting order promise dates, and continuously optimizing mix, sequencing, and resource use. Success in this role depends on an intimate understanding of how raw material quality, process routing, labor allocation, order timing, and yield interact to drive cost of goods and plant profitability.

Key responsibilities

You will build, publish, and maintain daily, weekly, and rolling production plans that reconcile demand, raw material intake, line capacity, labor, sanitation windows, and cold-chain constraints. You will translate production plans into staffing requirements by line, station, skill set, and shift, and identify whether constraints are labor, material, or equipment driven. You will assess incoming livestock, carcasses, primals, and trim for grade, weight, specification, and expected yield, allocating raw material to the highest-value feasible finished-goods mix. You will convert customer orders, forecasts, and inventory targets into executable production while managing make-to-order versus make-to-stock tradeoffs and protecting FIFO and FEFO lot control. You will establish and track planned versus actual yields by raw material type, process step, and finished SKU, and treat persistent yield variance as a process and planning problem requiring investigation and resolution.

Required skills

The ideal candidate brings five or more years of experience in production planning, manufacturing operations, or supply chain management, preferably in meat processing, food manufacturing, or complex assembly environments. You must demonstrate proficiency in production planning and scheduling, yield management, inventory management, demand planning, and cost analysis. Hands-on experience with ERP systems and a working knowledge of USDA, HACCP, GMP, and allergen compliance requirements are required. Strong analytical skills and the ability to work cross-functionally across operations, procurement, sales, and HR are essential to this role.

Experience required

5+ years in production planning, manufacturing operations, or supply chain management, preferably in meat processing, food manufacturing, or complex assembly environments. Strong analytical skills, process understanding, and ability to work cross-functionally.

Preferred qualifications

Experience specifically within a meat processing or protein manufacturing environment is strongly preferred. Candidates who have supported yield trials for new products or process changes and who have demonstrated the ability to replan in real time for livestock variability, quality holds, or unplanned downtime will stand out. A background that includes production accounting concepts such as labor variance, overhead absorption, and yield loss analysis is a meaningful advantage.

Compensation and benefits

PeopleSource Solutions places candidates with organizations that offer competitive, comprehensive benefits packages designed to attract and retain top operations talent. You can expect access to medical, dental, and vision coverage along with retirement savings options. Additional benefits typically include paid time off, holiday pay, and opportunities for performance-based compensation.
