About the role

PeopleSource Solutions is proud to present an exceptional on-site opportunity for a Quality Manager at a high-reliability aerospace and defense manufacturing facility located in Budd Lake, NJ. You will oversee the Quality Function for a full-time, on-site role responsible for ensuring compliance with company standards and governmental regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is a seasoned quality leader who exercises sound judgment in unusual cases, manages significant cost decisions, and supports both Production and Development Programs. You will serve as the primary protector of customer interests regarding product quality, ensuring contract requirements are met across all product inputs and outputs.

Key responsibilities

You will lead the organization's Quality Management System to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards, while developing, implementing, and monitoring quality strategies, policies, and objectives aligned with business goals. You will oversee internal, external, supplier, and regulatory audits, ensuring successful outcomes and timely corrective actions, and direct CAPA processes, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will establish and monitor quality metrics and KPIs to identify trends and drive performance improvements, and lead quality risk management activities to minimize operational and compliance risks. You will manage document control, change control, deviations, nonconformance investigations, and complaint handling processes, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve product quality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. You will also oversee supplier qualification, audits, and performance management to ensure supply chain quality.

Required skills

The ideal candidate brings demonstrated expertise in Quality Management Systems leadership, AS9100 Rev D and ISO 9001 standards, and Nonconformance Management including NCR and MRB processes. You must have working knowledge of Statistical Process Control, CAPA and root cause analysis methodologies, Supplier Quality Management, and Export Control awareness including ITAR and EAR. You will be expected to develop quality metrics and KPIs, interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and BOMs, and demonstrate knowledge of industry standards for PCBA and mechanical components such as IPC, MIL, and J-STD. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and a high attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Experience required

7-10 years in quality management/leadership role in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability industries. BS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering.

Preferred qualifications

Candidates with direct experience supporting government contract compliance and a proven track record of leading successful regulatory audits in aerospace or defense environments will stand out. Familiarity with fiber optic or inertial navigation systems, or power conversion applications, is a plus. Experience establishing department-level quality policies and programs within a senior management framework is strongly preferred.
